Arenal Volcano and La Fortuna
One of Costa Rica's most notable features is the Arenal Volcano. This impressive volcano is within the Arenal Volcano National Park. Although the volcano entered into a resting phase in 2010, it is still a stunning sight. Rising above the rainforest that surrounds its base, Arenal frames the skyline with near perfect symmetry. The park features many acitvities such as whitewater rafting, waterfall rappelling, hiking, and canopy tours as well as the town of La Fortuna. La Fortuna is located only 4 miles away from the Arenal Volcano. La Fortuna also offers horseback riding and cave explorations.
Rincon de la Vieja
Surrounded by the scenic Guanacaste Mountain Range, the Rincon de la Vieja cinder volcano sits among 35,000 acres of national park territory. It is a great place to escape from Guancaste's scorching beaches and to enjoy cool air, wonderfully refreshing waterfalls, exotic birds, and fantastic hiking. Its unique envroment offers a different kind of Guancaste vacation experience. The park has a great variety of wildlife such as over 300 species of bird, various quetzals, curassows, eagles, cougars, monkeys, kinkajous, jaguars, and many more. The volcanic vents and geysers are habitat for certain extremophile microorganisms.
Manuel Antonio
Set high above the enchanting national park, Manuel Antonio boasts world-class views and beaches. Puerto Viejo

Nearby Cahuita National Park and Gandoca-Manzanillo National Wildlife Refuge offers visitors a chance to observe the region's stunning wildlife, both of which are a short drive away.
Corcovado
